An Introduction to Drumbeat San Diego: A Collaboration of Mozilla Foundation and New Media Rights

New Media Rights and Mozilla Foundation are working together to create a San Diego Drumbeat event. This event aims to bring together artists, filmmakers, musicians, citizen journalists, lawyers, software developers and other groups dependent on an open Internet. We are seeking input from those interested in participating on how we can make this an excellent event.

FCC field hearing in San Diego discusses the future of mobile apps and solutions to a possible "spectrum crisis"

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and Commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker led two panels this week at USD for the development of a National Broadband Plan. The panelists discussed the future of spectrum availability and mobile applications during a time when the FCC warns of a "looming spectrum crisis".

San Diego Filmmaker Martin Johnson creates two Creative Commons documentaries on education and parenting

San Diego filmmaker Martin Johnson has produced two short form documentaries featuring local teachers discussing

  • the importance of parent involvement, and
  • how creating a math honor society encouraged inner city students to achieve
Both documentaries are licensed under Creative Commons licenses and were made using New Media Rights Free Public Studio equipment.
