Jamie Marion

Legal Clerk

Joined NMR in:

January 2012

Jamie is a second-year law student at California Western School of Law in San Diego, where he focuses on media and entertainment law.  Before returning to the academic fold, he worked for several years developing, repping and selling independent films in New York City, and later worked as a professional screenwriter and script doctor.  For him, promoting new art, artists and entrepreneurs has always been more a pleasure and a privilege than it has a job.  When time allows, he can be found whittling away at an ever-expanding pile of things he needs to watch, read or listen to...he also manages to sneak in the occasional surf.

Courtney is a second year law student with an interest in business development and international law. Regarding new media, she has positive feelings about the participatory culture we are in, the shift away from passive consumption, and the availability of creative surplus. She believes strongly in a quote she once read: "The internet means never having to ask permission before trying something new."

She is a writer for USD School of Law’s Newspaper Motions and a first-round draft pick for USD’s Intramural Softball League. She was born and raised in Charleston, SC, and is doing her best to prove that southerners are people, too. When she’s not absorbed in cyberspace, she likes to read, write, and scream loudly at football games.

Dan Terzian graduated from UCLA School of Law and currently lectures at Peking University School of Transnational Law. He knows little Chinese but is fluent in saying, "Hello. I'm Californian."

He reads The New Yorker, McSweeney's and the X-Men back catalog. He believes the future is now. And tomorrow. And the day after tomorrow. And he also believes that the law struggles to keep pace with technology.
