New Media Rights is a part of the Make It Safe Coalition (MISC) that is spearheaded by the Government Accountability Project (GAP).
This coalition helps connect us to organizations around the country that feel strongly about free speech and whistleblower protections.
Being a part of this community, New Media Rights has supported whistleblowers by supporting legislation including The Whistleblower Protection Act.
The Make it Safe Coalition is a nonpartisan, trans-ideological network of 50 good government, taxpayer, scientific, labor, civil liberties, and law enforcement organizations committed to securing protections for public and private workers who report waste, fraud and abuse in organization and government programs.
The Government Accountability Project helps whistleblowers be better informed about their rights as well as defend their rights.
GAP also raises the public's awareness about the importance of whistleblowers and the retaliation they face. Government Accountability Project’s stated mission, "is to promote corporate and government accountability by protecting whistleblowers, advancing occupational free speech, and empowering citizen activists."
New Media Rights supports whistleblowers and free speech and is a proud member of the Make It Safe Coalition. We believe it is important that whistleblower protections are enhanced, and defended vigorously online, to ensure corporate and government accountability.
